Both IWGP titles on the line were successfully defended on today's tour climax in Hiroshima. In what was their toughest challenge as a team yet, Bernard & Tomko overcame the third generation all-star combination of Nagata & Nakanishi in a quarter hour main event for their IWGP Tag Team Title. It was Nagata who the foreigners isolated, but he somehow survived the Magic Killer, before going down to the Bernard Driver. This loss, a direct one at that, ended Nagata's 2-crown dreams for now. Bernard & Tomko have now beaten Wild Child (Nakanishi & Omori), Tenzan & Koshinaka, Nagata & Iizuka, Tanahashi & Yamamoto, and Nagata & Nakanishi, and appear to be running low on challenges. Next month's G1 Tag League may present some fresh ones for them, though. In a rare case of champion going into the match as the underdog, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Ryusuke Taguchi, made an impressive and successful V1 defense of his belt against Tiger Mask. Tiger Mask came into this challenge having conquered the 4th Fukumen World League in Michinoku Pro, the second time he had taken that trophy, but the young ace of the junior division was too much for him today. Taguchi revealed that Masahito Kakihara had been acting as a "shadow member" of Samurai Gym (which does still exist), hitting Tiger with a Kaki Cutter, before using his more patented Dodon for the victory. Taguchi has a tough road ahead, set to face KAGEKI boss Azteca on 10/7, then if he wins, going up against the man he dethroned for the title, Minoru, on 10/8 at Sumo Hall.

Hirooki Goto continued to defeat Naofumi Yamamoto with embarrassing ease, considering they were once close rivals, and now Goto is winning every singles match they have. Goto's deadly Shouten again made the difference, keeping him unbeaten going into his Sumo Hall match with Tenzan. There were two big junior-dominated matches on today's undercard, which showed the increasing depth of New Japan's roster after there was very little of it at the start of 2006. The Italy Brothers impressively defeated last year's G1 Tag League runners-up, Tanahashi & Kanemoto, Milano again pinning Kanemoto. And in the latest war between these sides, Liger & AKIRA overcame Jado & Gedo, AKIRA completing his return tour to New Japan by pinning Jado.

2. Takashi Iizuka beat Mitsuhide Hirasawa (8:48) with a sleeper hold.

3. Jushin Thunder Liger & AKIRA beat Jado & Gedo (10:52) when AKIRA used a Musasabi press on Jado.

4. Minoru & Milano Collection AT beat Hiroshi Tanahashi & Koji Kanemoto (13:20) when Milano used the Milano!katame on Kanemoto.

5. Hirooki Goto beat Naofumi Yamamoto (11:06) with the Shouten.

6. Riki Choshu, Masahiro Chono, Shiro Koshinaka & Akebono beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Togi Makabe, Toru Yano & Tomohiro Ishii (12:06) when Choshu used a lariat on Ishii.

7. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Ryusuke Taguchi © beat Tiger Mask (15:15) with the Dodon (1st defense).

8. IWGP Tag Team Title: Giant Bernard & Travis Tomko © beat Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi (24:45) when Bernard used the Bernard Driver on Nagata (4th defense).

Това вече си е друго и определено звучи пъти по-доволно от другата тема, която пуснах преди малко. Всичко освен мач номер 2 ми звучи апетитно и вероятно ще го гледам, но мачове номер 4, 5 и 8 задължително ще ги гледам.
