HEIDENREICH
По случай годишнината от смъртта на Еди пускам тази класация.Тя май е публикувана преди но няма значение-може някой да не я е видял.R.I.P. Eddie. Greetings everyone and welcome to a very special edition of The Top Ten. Now you're probably thinking, "What the hell makes this edition so special?" and the answer is simply that this week we're going to look back at some of the greatest matches from a legendary wrestler that was taken away far too early, Eddie Guerrero. I think we all remember where we were or what we were doing when we found out about Eddie's passing. It was a complete shock to the wrestling community because Eddie seemed to be in the best of health and was poised to pick up his second WWE championship. The amount of sadness and grief within the wrestling community after Eddie's death was unlike anything I've ever seen and we have seen a lot of wrestlers die at a very early age, but none of those deaths impacted us quite as much as Eddie. Maybe it was because he was the focal point of Smackdown and a bona fide main eventer or maybe it was because we all knew the trials and tribulations that Eddie had to go through before he reached that main event status. After toiling away for years in WCW and nearly having his career and life cut short due to drug addiction, Eddie was able to beat those demons and come back at the top of his game and capture the hearts of fans from all around the world. So it's been one year since his tragic passing and even though it is still hard to believe that he is gone, at least we have all the memories and for that we are eternally grateful to Eddie Guerrero. VIVA LA RAZA! November 13, 2005 is a date that will live in wrestling infamy because that is the day that one of the most charismatic and talented wrestlers of this generation was taken away far too early. If Eddie Guerrero had died a couple years before, few people would have been shocked because of the numerous problems he had with drugs and other addictions. But the fact that the man cleaned up his life and was able to ascend to the top of the wrestling world as WWE Champion made his passing even sadder. Although we all miss Eddie, at least we have numerous great matches and moments to remember him by. Here are just a few of the many great matches that this incredible showman entertained us with. Honorable Mention: Eddie Guerrero vs. John Cena (Smackdown, 9/11/02) This was the popular Parking Lot Brawl between these two men and they put on one hell of a memorable performance. This was an entertaining, brutal match that saw both men whipped forcefully into car doors and thrown onto and through glass windows. The match ended when Eddie delivered a frog splash from one car to another on top of Cena and this helped to cement Eddie as one of the most popular faces on Smackdown which would propel him into becoming WWE Champion. Honorable Mention: Eddie Guerrero vs. Super Crazy (ROH, The Era of Honor Begins) This wasn't technical one of Eddie's best matches, but emotional, it was one of the most significant of his career. Eddie was on his road to recovery when this match took place and the fans knew this and gave Eddie massive support at the beginning of the match by chanting his name. This match was for the IWA Intercontinental Title and these two put on a great performance that was honestly cut too short. Ten more minutes and this match would have been a 5 star classic. It was still a very good contest, nonetheless, and was a very important match in the recovery of Eddie as he would be rehired by the WWE shortly after this match took place. Honorable Mention: "Black Tiger" Eddie Guerrero vs. "Wild Pegasus" Chris Benoit (Super J Cup '94)This match took place during the prestigious Super J Cup Tournament that was held in Tokyo, Japan and was one of the first meetings between Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Their rivalry would become stuff of legend as they would go on to produce many memorable matches, but it great to watch this match and see both of them early in their career going toe to toe with each other. This was another match that needed about 10 extra minutes, but it was still supremely entertaining and made all the fans in Tokyo realize that these two men were the future of pro wrestling. 10) Eddie Guerrero vs. Rob Van Dam (RAW, 5/27/02) This was the infamous ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship and it would become one of the most memorable ladder matches in wrestling history. Eddie entered the match as champ after defeating RVD at Backlash for the title. This match saw both men take an insane amount of high risks and bruising moves including a sunset flip powerbomb from the top of the ladder. The match also saw an idiot fan run into the ring which got him an ass whipping directly from Latino Heat. This match is still fondly talked about by many fans to this day and it's no surprise because these two men went out and busted their ass for our entertainment and gave us a match to remember them by for a very long time. 9) Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho (WCW Fall Brawl '97) Chris Jericho entered this match as the Cruiserweight Champion and Eddie was on a warpath to try to get his hands on that gold. The match started slow with the two trading various counters and Eddie working over Jericho with various submission moves. Once Jericho started to make his comeback, though, this match picked up very quickly and it was near fall after near fall. The ending saw Jericho attempt a superplex only for Eddie to reverse it and land on top of Jericho and then go to the top rope to deliver one of the prettiest frog splashes you'll ever see. An absolutely terrific match that made Eddie look like a true badass. 8) Eddie Guerrero vs. Edge (Smackdown, 9/22/02) This match was the culmination of the Edge/Eddie feud that included a fantastic match at Summerslam 2002. This match was No DQ and saw these two men beat the absolute crap out of each other. Some of the highlights of this match included Eddie delivering a hilo while Edge was sandwiched in between two ladders, Eddie deliver a sunset flip powerbomb from the top of a ladder, Eddie getting backdropped upside down into a ladder, and Edge hitting Eddie with an implant DDT from the top of a ladder. This was an absolutely insane match and one of the best matches I've seen on free TV EVER! 7) Los Guerreros vs. Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit vs. Edge & Rey Mysterio (Survivor Series '02) When Eddie and Chavo Guerrero were growing up as kids, they dreamed about one day holding tag team titles together. Their dreams came true after this match as they defeated two of the best tag teams ever produced in WWE, Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit as well as Edge & Rey Mysterio. And how did they win it? Through lying, cheating and stealing, of course! This was an elimination tag match(to keep with the Survivor Series theme) that saw the super team of Benoit and Angle eliminated first and saw Los Guerreros use their cheating ways to lay out Rey Mysterio with a belt shot and claim the WWE tag team championships. Many people at the time saw this match as a disappointment, but I think that's because expectations for this match were set far too high. Some people were expecting this to be the greatest match EVER due to all the great matches that the "Smackdown Six" provided in 2002. If you go back and look at this match now, without those lofty expectations, you'll realize that this is a great match that is certainly one of the better tag matches the ‘E has put on in this millennium. 6) Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit (Vengeance '03) This was for the first ever US Championship(taken from WCW) recognized in the WWE and who would be better to continue the great tradition of that belt than two of the best technical wrestlers in the WWE at the time. These two always had fantastic chemistry together and this match was no different as they put on an absolutely classic match. In my opinion, this is the best match these two men ever had and that's saying a lot considering this match saw an insane amount of ref bumps and a run-in by Rhyno, but all the great technical wrestling preceding that more than made up for the silly ending. The look on Eddie's face and shoulder shrug after realizing that Rhyno had gored Benoit instead of him is still one of the most glorious moments I've ever seen. Classic Eddie. 5) Eddie Guerrero & Art Barr vs. Octagon & El Hijo Del Santo (AAA When Worlds Collide) This match was the ultimate grudge match as Eddie Guerrero was fighting with his partner, Art Barr, to try to embarrass Octagon and his partner, El Hijo Del Santo, who's father was tag team partners with Eddie's father but always seemed to overshadow him. Eddie had tagged with El Hijo and felt that he was getting overlooked in a similar fashion that his father was when he teamed with El Santo, so Eddie turned on El Hijo and began to team with Art Barr. This was a 2/3 falls hair vs. mask match which meant that Eddie and Barr would lose their hair if they lost and Octagon and El Hijo would lose their masks if they lost. What makes this match so great is the way that Eddie and Art Barr were able to whip up the fans in an absolute frenzy with their anti-Mexican sentiment, which was funny since Eddie was Mexican and the PPV took place in Los Angeles yet the fans were booing the Americans and cheering the Mexicans. This match saw lots of drama after Eddie and Barr went up 1 fall to none(after a picture perfect frog splash by Barr) and seemed poised to take the 2nd fall until Octagon and El Hijo started making a comeback. The ending saw Octagon and El Hijo come back to win the match and Eddie and Art Barr get their hair cut off. Awesome match filled with great wrestling action, an insane crowd, and tons of drama. 4) Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko (ECW, 8/26/95) This was the swan song in ECW for Eddie and Dean before they headed to WCW and they went out by providing one of the best, if not THE BEST, match in ECW history. The match began with fans beginning a massive chant of "Please Don't Go" showing their appreciation for these two great athletes. The two men then provided to put on a scientific classic that saw Eddie win the first match after a roll up, Dean win the second fall with The Texas Cloverleaf, and the third fall end in a draw after both men's shoulders were counted on the mat. It was the perfect end to the match and the post-match speech by both men was truly memorable and genuinely emotional. Great match, great moment. 3) Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle (Wrestlemania XX) This was finally Eddie's chance to shine on the grandest stage of them all and boy did he ever as he put on quite a show with Kurt Angle. Eddie had won the WWE title at No Way Out which pissed Angle off to no end and he proceeded to make Eddie's life a living hell until they met each other at Wrestlemania. These two had a great back and forth match that saw Eddie narrowly escape various attempts at the Anklelock by Eddie. It seemed that Angle had Eddie's number and was poised to take the title off of him until Eddie went into his lying, cheating and stealing playbook. Eddie loosened up his boot and when Angle attempted the anklelock again, the boot flew off which baffled Angle and allowed Eddie to score a quick rollup(with his feet on the ropes, of course). Awesome match, awesome finish. 2) Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (Halloween Havoc '97) This is one of those matches that you have to see to understand just how truly great it is. I hadn't watched this match in years(since I originally purchased the Eddie Guerrero DVD) and I just watched it again for this column and I once again was mesmerized by just how fantastic this match was. These guys tried some very high risk maneuvers and hit absolutely EVERYTHING. This was the perfect definition of a flawless match. This was thought of by many to be the best match of 1997 and that's VERY impressive considering the numerous amount of great matches that took place in 1997, namely the first ever Hell In A Cell match. If you've never seen this match, what the hell are you waiting for?!? 1) Eddie Guerrero vs. Brock Lesnar (No Way Out '04) This is what Eddie Guerrero had been training for since he was a little kid. This is what Eddie Guerrero fought off all his addictions for. A shot at the WWE title. Eddie was a tremendous underdog in this match as Brock Lesnar was an unstoppable beast. Brock constantly taunted Eddie and told him that he was nothing. Even the announcers stated that Eddie didn't have a shot in hell of winning the title. Shame on them for doubting Latino Heat. Eddie was getting his ass thoroughly kicked in the beginning of the match and it seemed as though everytime he started making a comeback, Brock put an end to that. When it seemed as if though it was going to be a cakewalk for Lesnar, Eddie started to fight his way back. Eddie then caught a break after Lesnar smashed his knee on the top turnbuckle which enabled Eddie to work ferociously on Lesnar's knee. It seemed as if Eddie might pull it off when Brock used his overwhelming power to counter Eddie. The match was at a standstill until Goldberg came in and speared the crap out of Lesnar which seemed to win the match for Eddie, but Lesnar kicked out. It seemed as if noting could stop Lesnar, but Eddie countered an F5 with a DDT and went up to the top to deliver a frog splash for the win and the crowd absolutely exploded. It was one of the best feel-good moments ever and you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion seeing Eddie hold up the WWE title after all the ordeals he overcame in his life. UltraMadd
Интересна статия. Гледал съм следните мачове: Eddie Guerrero vs. John Cena (Smackdown, 9/11/02) Eddie Guerrero & Art Barr vs. Octagon & El Hijo Del Santo (AAA When Worlds Collide) Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle (Wrestlemania XX) Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio (Halloween Havoc '97) Eddie Guerrero vs. Brock Lesnar (No Way Out '04) Като цяло съм съгласен с техните места в класацията. Eddie Guerrero vs. Super Crazy (ROH, The Era of Honor Begins) Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit (Vengeance '03) Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko (ECW, 8/26/95) Ще се радвам, ако успея да намеря и някои от другите класически мачове на Еди.
