Хванаха го с мелдониум, което е същото с което хванаха Шарапова (от по-отразените в медиите случаи), както и доста други атлети, повечето от които руски. Мелдониума се смята, че значително подпомага издръжливостта на спортистите, концентрацията им, както и намалява стреса. Въпреки това, мачът не е отменен, а само отложен (поне засега), като все още няма нова обявена дата. Все още от WBC могат да кажат, че мачът се отменя и тогава ще се търси нов опонент на Wilder.
