New Free-To-Air British Wrestling Show Set For Debut

Returning to Challenge TV for a second season, Wrestle Talk TV [седмично кеч текшоу, което се излъчва след IMPACT WRESTLING] is now available worldwide via YouTube.

With the latest series running weekly, in a new, faster-paced 30-minute format, Challenge TV are pleased to announce details of a new, separate show coming to the Challenge Late Zone, that will quench the thirst of British wrestling fans.

Beginning on March 31, BWC British Wrestling Round-Up is an assembly of all the great happenings on the UK wrestling scene, including footage from the top companies in the country. The show will air immediately after Wrestle Talk TV, at 11.30pm on Challenge, initially on a monthly basis.

"As many of you will know, it has been my dream to try and bring the British wrestling industry to new heights, and to do so as a collective," said Wrestle Talk TV creator Alex Shane.

"Despite many of those within the industry having differences with each other from time to time, we all have one thing in common, and that is our love and level of commitment to pro wrestling. Having a TV show that is shared in this way is the culmination of decades of work by so many of us. However, for me it is just the beginning of the real journey to establish British wrestling once again as a player on worldwide television. It's a journey that I would like us to take together with this new TV show."

The new show will come under the BWC (British Wrestling Coalition) banner, as part of a collective effort by Shane and Greg Lambert to resurrect the concept.

"The BWC was a great idea, however being just one man trying to run both the BWC and the FWA, not to mention having my own wrestling career at the time, was just too much for anyone one person to take on," added Shane.

"Now, the FWA's attempts to get on the national TV have become Wrestle Talk TV, after FWA Managing Director Tony Simpson stepped away from wrestling. I now no longer wrestle, either, but instead agent selective talent instead (such as Alpha Female) which has given me more time and focus. Now with our links to Challenge, Fighting Spirit Magazine, TNA Wrestling, not to mention our worldwide platform on YouTube, I have been inundated with requests to assist in the project from both promoters and fans alike, and I believe both the timing and landscape could not be better to attempt to make the BWC concept return once and for all."

In a historic moment for the UK industry, British wrestling returns to national television for the first time in 25 years with BWC British Wrestling Round-Up exclusively on the Challenge Late Zone. Featuring some of the top stars, matches and companies on the UK scene and hosted by Lisa Carrodus, the British Wrestling Council brings you an action packed, 30 minute look at British wrestling in 2013.

Hosted by Wrestle Talk TV's Lisa Carrodus, we kick things off with triple threat match from Hull's NGW promotion, as then NGW champion Rampage Brown takes on 'The Showstealer' Nathan Cruz and the 'Mexican Sensation' El Ligero. Taking place in the Coronet Theatre in London's Elephant and Castle, this is a perfect slice of British wrestling action that shows what the UK scene has to offer a quarter of a century after it was removed from ITV.

Next up we feature our 'UK Promotion In Review' as we look at Preston City Wrestling's 'Money In The Bank Match'. Featuring Dave Rayne, Sam Bailey, Dean Allmark, Martin Kirby, CJ Banks and BT Gunn, this 6 corners match is as fast paced as any wrestling you'll see around the globe and a perfect introduction to the PCW promotion.

After a short break, we head back to the Coronet Theatre once again as British wrestling veterans 'The Wonderkid' Jonny Storm and Dean Allmark take on TNA British Bootcamp contestant Marty Scurll and Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan's break out star, Zack Zabre Jnr. Collectively known as 'The Leaders Of The New School'. This is a tremendous slice of British tag team wrestling and one that you won't want to take your eyes off of for a second.

Finally we wrap up this episode of BWC British Wrestling Round-Up with a look at a true British wrestling ambassador. World renowned technical master and globe travelled veteran, Doug Williams. A star of TNA, ROH, FWA, NOAH and throughout Europe, we see Doug here in an epic bout from a history making show. Taking place at International Showdown in 2004, Williams teams with James Tighe and the man known to many as 'Too Cold Scorpio' to battle the Pro Wrestling Noah team from Japan of Tiger Emperor Yoshinari, Ogawa and sadly passed Japanese wrestling legend Mitsuharu Misawa. This hard hitting match taking place at the Coventry Skydome in front over 3,500 fans, is certainly a true piece of British wrestling history and the perfect conclusion to this debut episode of BWC British Wrestling Round-Up.

Then we go back in time and watch a true classic on the UK scene as 'The Wonderkid' Jonny Storm takes on a man making his European debut in AJ Styles from 2002. This is an action packed contest that will remind fans just how great AJ truly is.
