nWoHulkster
Най-важното: Sabu was found unresponsive in his hotel room when the promoters went to pick him up for tonight's show. 911 was called and Sabu is now in the hospital. The staff at the hotel says Sabu appeared intoxicated earlier that day. Sabu was scheduled to wrestle Shane Douglas in the main event. Justin Credible was kicked out from backstage after reportedly passing out. He was scheduled to wrestle Jerry Lynn. In addition to that, PG-13, Rhino and Tracy Smothers were advertised but were not on the show. The show started 30 minutes late. We don't have other details other than the building was sold out with about 2,400 fans, making it probably the biggest indy show of the year in the USA. It's 11 p.m. at this writing, fans are chanting "End the show." They have about an hour's worth of scheduled matches left. There were also "This show sucks" chants as well. Jerry Lynn vs. Devon Storm is stealing the show right now and turned the mood around, with "Thank You Jerry, Thank you Crowbar" chants. Women in the crowd having been flashing their boobs. Shane Douglas got in the ring and the fans were chanting "refund" at him. Not exactly what you'd expect from a nostalgia crowd... They are now ending the show with Douglas vs. Too Cold Scorpio, so apparently pulled some things from the show due to being late. Douglas won when Tod Gordon helped him. Fans were throwing things at the ring at the end of the show. The show is now available as an iPPV: iPPV VOD VIDEO DOWNLOAD ADVANCE PRE-SALE FOR EXTREME REUNION 4/28 SHOW ON SALE NOW Подробен репортаж: Pre-Show Notes: The live crowd is HUGE. There is a line around the building for the show....There will be a pre-show before the Reunion event...Backstage are Homicide, Ruckus, Jeez, The Maximos, DJ Hyde, Matt Tremont and Rory Mondo. Some will be working the show. Some are visiting....They are using CZW's ring and production team for the event....They are selling several different t-shirt designs.... Pre-Show Notes #2: The show is officially sold out with 2,100 fans here.....There are lots of "ECW" chants in the crowd.....There are multiple cameras filming, including a crane camera, a hard camera and several handhelds...They are also filming with several flip cams...UWF's Larry Legend is helping out backstage....The start of the show is being delayed as the PA Athletic Commission doctor was delayed in arriving at the venue. The show opened with a video tribute to former ECW stars who have passed away, ending with Paul Heyman's speech after Louie Spicoli died, saying that "if you are part of the family of ECW, whether you are with us or not, you are I assure you, for life." I was told this was something a fan made in honor of the wrestlers who passed so they decided to play it. The crowd popped HUGE for most of the names. No Chris Benoit mention. They played the old ECW opening, followed by a backstage promo with Shane Douglas. Both had no audio so the crowd chanted, "Bullsh**." The crowd then entertained themselves chanting, "Yes!" Production turned everything off. Bob Artese came to the ring and asked who wants some autographed hats. He tossed them out. He introduced Larry Legend. Ruckus & Blk Jeez vs. The Dramatics. This is a dark match to test all the cameras and production. Dramatics are a masked team billed from Puerto Rico. Looks like the Maximos to me. The larger one went back and forth with Jeez and was sent out of the ring. Jeez hit a tope con hilo over the top to the floor. Ruckus then hit a dive. Back in the ring, he went for a handspring elbow but was taken out by the larger Dramatic. The Dramatics tagged in and out working over Ruckus. Jeez hit the ring to help but was taken out. The Dramatics whipped Ruckus into the corner and nailed a double big boot then cannonball in the corner. Ruckus and Jeez turned the tide with double team maneuvers. They worked over one of the Dramatics in their corner, choking him. Ruckus nailed the Razzle Dazzle in the corner on the smaller Dramatic. They did the Backseat Boyz' T Gimmick for a two count. Ruckus went for a moonsault but the Dramatic put his foot up. He made the hot tag to the other Maximo,er Dramatic. The new Dramatic cleaned house on his opponents. He nailed a back suplex with a bridge on Ruckus. Jeez drilled him with a double stomp. They nailed the Hart Attack on him, then turned him over into a Boston Crab. Jeez dropped a big legdrop on him for a two count. They went to work over the Dramatics in the corner but Ruckus was shoved off the ropes to the floor. The Dramatics hit the Spanish Fly off the top. The crowd chanted ECW. Jeez broke up the pinfall. Ruckus nailed a moonsault into a legdrop but missed and was covered. Your winners, the Dramatics! Solid, fun match. Cordova vs. Bu Ku Dao I have no idea idea who these guys are. The crowd chanted, "F*** you both." Dao, who was billed from Asia, began doing mic work. He introduced Luke Hawx, who called out Shane Douglas, calling him out. They've been doing some viral videos of Hawx calling out Douglas and crapping on the reunion. The crowd chanted for New Jack and he said whoever came out, he would beat the sh** out of them. Cordova attacked him and Hawx left the ring, then kept calling Douglas out, saying he wanted Shane to come out and face him. The crowd booed Cordova when he was left in the ring and they booed him terribly and chanted, "No! No! No!" Crowd didn't seem to know what to make of all this. Bob Artese introduced Robby Mireno. Mireno said it was an honor to have the spot that Joey Styles made famous, being the play by play man for Extreme Reunion. The fans chanted "Joey Styles." Mireno said Styles was the best announcer of all time and it was an honor. Joel Gertner came out and said it was an absolute honor for him to introduce....and he went into his patented spiel. Gertner got a monster pop and the crowd chanted, "Welcome back." Gertner then told the crowd on behalf of everyone in the back, "Thank you, you guys are beautiful. Thank you." The Final Battle: BWO vs. The FBI Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie came to the ring with Thomas Rodman, who was part of the BWO in the 1996-1997 era. No Hollywood Nova as Mike Bucci turned down the booking. FBI are Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke. No Tracy Smothers as he pulled out at the last minute, claiming he was done with the business. Mamaluike and Richards started out shoving each other . Mamaluke grabbed a side headlock. They went back and forth with reversals and faced off. Mamaluke overpowered him and tossed Richards into the corner, chopping him. They fired back and forth with chops. Richards snapmared him and nailed a kick to the back. Guido tagged in and Meanie tagged iun as well. Guido worked him over and beat him in the corner but Meanie was too heavy for him to whip out of the corner. They started thumbwrestling. Yes, thumbwrestling. That was funny. The fans chanted ECW for it. Mamaluke tried to interfere and Meanie hit them with a double noggin' knocker. Guido began jawing with Meanie and dared him to a dance-off. He offered to let Meanie go first, then he and Mamaluke attacked him. The FBI double teamed Meanie, taking turns. Mamaluke drilled him with several kicks to the back. They FBI went to do a double Russian legsweep but Meanie turned it into a double Stroke. Richards made the hot tag and killed Mamaluke with a Steviebomb. Guido broke up the pinfall. Luke Hawx came out to the ring and grabbed Stevie's leg. Richards turned to him and was rolled up and pinned by Mamaluke. Your winners, the FBI! Fun comedy and decent wrestling but a weak finish. A pissed off Stevie nailed Rodman with the Steviekick afterwards and looked as if he was going to fight with Meanie. He and Meanie left alone. Al Snow vs. CW Anderson. This is the first time they've ever wrestled. Big reaction and "Head" chant for Snow. He was wearing his JOB Squad era outfit and argued with the head. He and Anderson did some nice back and forth wrestling to start, going back and forth on the mat and reversing holds. Snow hiptossed Anderson and grabbed the head. They went back and forth on the mat, working holds. Snow caught Anderson with a belly to belly suplex for a two count. He nailed Anderson into the buckles. Anderson made a comeback and Snow rolled out of the ring to recover. Snow missed a bodypress. Anderson grabbed Snow and slammed him shoulder-first into the ring post. Snow went to the floor hurt and was almost counted out by the referee. Snow made it back to the apron, where Anderson worked him over with right hands. They fought to the floor, where Snow tossed Anderson over the guard rail into the first row. Big pop for that. Snow grabbed the head to celebrate but Anderson nailed him from behind, then drilled him with a chair. He went for an Irish whip but Snow reversed and Anderson went into the guard rail. He whipped Anderson into another. Anderson returned to the ring, where Snow had used a maneuquin torso that was tossed in from the front row and nailed Anderson with it. He suplexed Anderson for a two count. Anderson mounted a comeback with a series of right hands and drilled Snow over the back. He began working over Snow's arm, using the ropes for leverage. Anderson continued working over the arm on the mat, methodically working it over. Anderson slipped away from Snow mounting a comeback and drilled him with a swinging necbreaker. He went right back to the armbar. Snow tried to mount a comeback but was cut off and locked in the armbar again. The crowd was getting restless but they were telling a story with the match. Snow finally broke free. Anderson tried to kick him coming off a rebound but his leg was caught. Snow nailed an enziguiri on Anderson. Anderson recovered to his feet first and locked the armbar back on. He began stomping the hell out of Snow's arm. He grabbed the head and set up to punt it into the crowd but Snow tackled him and went nuts with offense on him. Snow drilled Anderson with the Head. Anderson rolled to the outside and Snow began talking to the Head. Anderson was whipped into the corner, taking out the referee. Snow nailed the Snowplow but there was no referee. The ref finally counted two and Anderson kicked out. Snow went to nail him with the Head but the referee took it away. Snow was drilled with the Spinebuster and pinned. Your winner, CW Anderson! OK match. They were telling a solid story but they never seemed to capture the crowd. I enjoyed it however. It was a nice throwback to when guys worked holds. After the match, Snow argued with the Head, called it a whore and attacked it with a series of elbows. He beat it into the buckles with the fans counting. Snow then nailed it with a superplex and walked off without it. Axl Rotten vs. Balls Mahoney They each came out with chairs but agreed to put them down in their respective corners. They began exchanging punches with the crowd going "Balls" and "Axl." Balls got the better of the exchange, sending Rotten to the floor. He followed and nailed Rotten with a bottle of water. He grabbed a fan from a ringside fan and nailed Rotten with it. They battled up the aisle, hitting each other with weapons and punches. They returned to the ring, where a ton of weapons were brought into the ring by Balls, including a cheese grater. He rammed Axl's head with it. He choked Axl against the ropes and used the grater, busting him open. He then began using it on Axl's arm. Axl fought back and used the grater on Balls' face. Balls dared him to fight and Axl nailed him with a nerf bat embedded with tacks or nails.' Rotten then used a small kid's back covered in tacks on Balls' arm. He wrapped a piece of metal around Balls' head. Mahoney was bleeding from his head and arm. The crowd chanted for Rotten. Balls nailed Rotten with a sign, then grabbed his chair. He placed it on the mat to use. He grabbed Rotten and slammed him on the chair for a two count. Rotten came back and nailed Mahoney in the head with the chair. Mahoney pulled himself up. Rotten killed him with another chairshot and DDT'd Mahoney on the chair for the pin. Your winner, Axl Rotten! Mahoney and Rotten had words after the match but finally embraced and hugged. The crowd cheered and chanted, "ECW". They sang "Big Balls" with the crowd. We are going to intermission! Angel of The Baldies came to the ring. Angel said that tonight was supposed to be about the legacy of ECW. He said that he's tired of hearing about who was the best Tag Team champions. He's tired of hearing about Taz, Raven and Sandman. He's tired of hearing about Impact Players, Eliminators and Balls and Axl. He said that Baldies were the best team in ECW history. He said they were the baddest and its not their fault they were there at the end when the checks were bouncing like the Blue Meanie's stomach. He said that he that if anyone wants to step to the plate and stand by him and prove who the baddest is, to come on out. The crowd chanted, "Shut the f*** up." The Gangsta's music played and out they came to the biggest pop of the night. They trashed Angel. Jack laid something over his nether-regions and trashed him with a stick. He pulled out a claw that looked like Freddie Kruegers and dug it into Angel's head. That got an ECW chant. They pulled a table into the ring. Mustafa worked over Angel. They set him up on a table and were about to put him through it when Ruckus and Jeez hit the ring for save. They worked over the Gangstas. Jack fired back and brawled with Ruckus. Angel worked over Mustafa as Jeez and Ruckus worked over Jack. They finally walked off. This looked like the start of a storyline. The angle didn't get over at all as the fans were chanting for "refund" and booing it after. A fan threw water on Jeez on the way out and Jeez had to be held back from murdering him. Extreme Reunion attempted to reach out to Devito and HC Loc to get them to team with Angel. Devito turned it down, citing health issues. Loc was called too late to make it to the show. Pitbull Gary Wolfe (with Christina Vicious) vs. Raven. Wolfe took the mic and says that everyone knows Pitbull 2. He said their brothers are watching above, especially Pitbull 2, waiting for him to kick the sh** out of Raven so let's get it done. Raven came out with a new Flock, including a legitimately crippled guy who called him "Cripple H." Raven began ripping on the legacy of ECW, saying reunions are for "f**s and morons." He said that now ECW means "Extremely C**ty Wrestling." The Flock attacked Wolfe. Raven said he came here to mock how pathetic everyone is for not moving on and living in the past. They all worked over Wolfe. "Enter Sandman" began to play and out came Sandman for his grand entrance. The Flock beat the crap out of Wolfe. Sandman entered the ring and caned the entire Flock. He was laid out and beaten with by a muscular guy in the Flock. Wolfe and the muscle guy brawled. Wolfe hit a sitdown slam and pinned him. Yes, Wolfe pinned someone not even in the match to win. Raven said this was pathetic and he needed a new Flock. He walked out. Sandman caned the hell out of Criple H and then he and Wolfe drank a bunch of beers. Holy bait and switch Batman. Raven didn't even work. WTF. They draw over 2000 fans and one of the top names on the show treats it like a joke and doesn't work. Sad. There was a small but noticeable "This show sucks". Ouch. Devon Storm vs. Jerry Lynn Storm is better known as Crowbar. He did have an ECW run in 1996. He's replacing Justin Credible, who was here but pulled off the show. I'll have more on that later. There was a HUGE "Save the show" chant. They went back and forth, locking up and going back and forth with some nuce reversals. Lynn locked on an armbar. Storm reversed and they went back and forth working on the arm. Crowbar went to work on the leg but Lynn slipped out and grabbed a headlock. The fans chanted, "This is wrestling." Lynn whipped Storm into the corner. He nailed Storm and whippped him into the opposite corner. Storm reversed and went up and over but Lynn turned it into a flying headscissors, sending him to the outside. Lynn went for a sliding kick but Storm slipped out of the way and nailed him. He knocked Lynn off the apron to the floor and slammed him into the guard rail. Back in the ring, Storm peppered him with a series of kicks to the chest and choked him against the ropes. Storm nailed a flying leg lariat. Lynn was locked in a chinlock but fired back with a series of elbows to the gut. Storm went for a back suplex but Lynn turned it into a bodypress for a two count. Storm nailed him and kicked him with a punting kick. Lynn fired back with forearms but was nailed and whipped into the ropes. He charged Storm who went for a powerbomb but they tumbled over the ropes to the floor. They battled on the floor with stiff chops. Lynn did Flair mannerisms as they battled up the aisle. Storm grabbed a piece of guard rail and brought it to the ringside area. He bridged it between the ring and the guard rail. Lynn grabbed a fan's cane and hit Storm with it. They brawled around the ringside area. Homicide was out there. Storm trashed Lynn and tossed him into the ring. He went to use a chair but Lynn stomped his hands. Lynn went to nail him with it but Storm nailed him and hit a Northern Lights suplex on the chair for a two count. They battled back and forth. Lynn nailed a tornado DDT on the chair for a two count. Lynn went for the cradle piledriver but Storm nailed a double leg takedown and legdropped Lynn between the legs. They battled to the floor, where Storm nailed a standing vertical suplex through the guard rail. The crowd popped and chanted ECW. Storm used a chair on Lynn on the outside. He placed Lynn on a table. He went to the ropes but Lynn nailed him with a chair and hit a top rope hurancanrana on the outside through a table on the floor. The crowd chanted, "Thank you Jerry." They then chanted, "Thank you Crowbar." Back in the ring, Crowbar took control and set up two chairs facing each other, then another on top. He went for a move but Lynn reversed it into a suplex on the chair. Big ECW chair. Lynn nailed the cradle piledriver on two chairs for the pin. Your winner, Jerry Lynn! Huge chant for Lynn. Far and away the best match on the show. The crowd loved it because they gave them an ECW style match and brawl and highspots, which is all they wanted all night and never really got. The crowd chanted, "That was awesome." Lynn took the mic and said, "No, No, you guys are f***ing awesome." He noted that he was retiring at the end of the year and the crowd chanted No and told him that he's still got it. He said it was his 24th year and he has to be smart and listen to his body. The crowd applauded. The crowd thanked him with chants. He told them that he thanked them. He said he was told 5-6 years ago to retire and he didn't because he didn't listen. He said that ECW fans were awesome and came to have fun and make it a party. He thanked them once again. Far and away the best thing on the show. That was incredible. Both guys deserve a hell of a lot of credit. Shane Douglas vs. 2 Cold Scorpio Shane Douglas came out. The crowd chanted, "F*** you Shane" and "Refund." Douglas told the crowd that he works them, not the other way around. Douglas said that unlike jackasses that lie to the fans, he will shoot. He said that Sabu was found unresponsive in his hotel room. He said that ECW never hid behind a bullsh** story and neither will Extreme Reunion. Douglas name checked Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Candido and said that in ECW, whatever happened, they were a fraternity. He said that they were a family and family watches out for family. He said Sabu's been rushed to the hospital and have heard nothing credible from the hospital. Douglas cut a promo about the night he tossed down the NWA title and beating 2 Cold Scorpio. He said that if Scorpio would face him, he wanted to re-live that moment and see what could have been. Scorpio came to the ring with Bill Alfonso, who was brought in to manage Sabu as a surprise. So, that's our main event. They locked up and went back and forth then brawled on the floor. They brawled into the ring and out into the crowd. It was impossible to see what they were doing from my vantage point. The crowd didn't like what was going on and chanted, "This is bullsh**." With Shane in the crowd, Scorpio went to the top and nailed a twisting bodypress to him on the floor. The crowd popped for that. They finally returned to the ring. Back in the ring, Douglas went for a piledriver but was backdropped over. Fans chanted, "Just retire." Scorp nailed a moonsault off the top and covered Shane for a two count. A masked man came to the ring. Douglas nailed a move on Scorpio for a two count. Douglas nailed Scorp. The masked man pulle th referee out of the ring and sent him into the ringpost. He entered the ring and went face to face with Douglas. Douglas told him to work over Scorp but instead he attacked Shane and unmasked, revealing Kevin Sullivan. Scorp nailed Shane with a superkick and came off the top with a twisting frog splash. The referee rolled back in the ring and counted two but Douglas kicked out. Sullivan went to the back. Scorp nailed a flip legdrop for a two count. The crowd chanted, "F*** you Shane." Scorp nailed an Arabian Press for a two count. Douglas was bleeding from the lip. Scorp charged him in the corner but was kicked off. Douglas went for a piledriver but Scorpio nailed him with a series of combinations. Another masked man ran in. It was Tod Gordon. He hugged Scorpio. Shane hit a twisting sunset flip and pinned Scorpio. Your winner, Shane Douglas! Scorpio took the mic and said Douglas wasn't sh**, then told Tod Gordon to kiss his black ass. There's not much a positive feeling from fans leaving. That's it from Philadelphia И още един: The first thing I want to say is that I was a huge fan of the original ECW. I discovered the product right before they changed their name to Extreme Championship Wrestling and I consider them to be underrated for their contributions in modernizing wrestling in the United States in the mid '90s. I watched Hardcore Homecoming 1 and 2, I saw the WWE incarnations of ECW with the One Night Stand events and their reinterpretation of the ECW brand. I saw TNA’s Hardcore Justice and attended Francine’s Legends of the Arena show. I loved ECW when I was younger and wanted to enjoy wrestling again like I did when I was a teenager. That’s why when Shane Douglas announced he was reintroducing the brand I was very excited. I bought my tickets as soon as they were available (almost four months ago) and was counting the days. I checked out extremereunion.net on a regular basis for updates and the various interviews he’s done on podcasts concerning the event. I’ve routinely defended Shane and Extreme Reunion on Youtube whenever (I felt) people were attacking the concept without understanding what Shane was trying to accomplish with the new brand. With all that being said, what happened yesterday at Extreme Reunion was unexpected to say the least. We arrived at the National Guard Armory at 10:30 AM for the Fan Fest. The Armory was pretty packed. A lot of guys were signing autographs at their various tables. Interestingly enough, the BWO’s Dennis Rodman had his own table. I seriously doubt he did much business. Stevie Richards was the only guy I saw who was not sitting at a table, instead he was talking to fans and seemed to be looking at their phones constantly. I also noticed Raven was there wearing glasses. I almost didn’t recognize him. Shane’s table was the busiest. He was talking to a lot of fans, interacting with them for awhile and seemed to be in great spirits. I ended up getting Shane’s autograph but didn’t get to speak to him much, probably because fan fest was coming to an end soon. There was a black guy announcing over the intercom when guys came in and left and all I knew was that he was grading on my nerves. Unfortunately, he comes back into the story later. On the way out, Justin Credible asked my friend for a cigarette, which he gave him. Since, I didn’t live in Philly we explored the town a bit until the show later than night. We arrived back at the Arena around 6 PM. The doors were supposed to open at 6 but didn’t until 6:30 or so. There was a lot of people there. I talked to some people and they were friendly and very well educated fans. There were a few kids there but mostly younger guys. When the doors opened some fans (from the back of the line) tried to cut the line and were greeted with a**hole and bulls**t chants. Pretty funny stuff, they went to the back of the line and one guy I heard said that sucked! Once inside we went to our general admission seats. The Armory is quite a bit bigger than the Arena and the layout was pretty nice. We had a great view and were pretty close to the ring. The Armory was a great choice for the event. Above the entrance was a decent sized television which showed the Extreme Reunion logo. The Armory was completely filled with a lot of standing room only. The audience was hot for the show going in and from my opinion if the show was good Extreme Reunion would be a success. However, there’s more to come on this later. The event was supposed to start at 7 PM but didn’t start until 7:45 PM which irritated the fans. When the event started, there was a video on the screen showing ECW guys who have passed away. Eddie Guerrerro got some Eddie chants going as well as Candito. Well done and very detailed, no Chris Benoit though. After the video, the classic ECW intro to the show was played…the only problem was there was no sound. Immediately following the ECW opening was the Shane Douglas's promo about Extreme Reunion…once again, though, no sound. All together three to five minutes of video playing with no sound at all. The first match was introduced, and as a "pleasant" surprise the announcer from the Fan Fest was introduced as a new ring announcer. He was dressed in street clothes rather than a typical suit like the other announcers. I wasn’t a fan of his but I can appreciate that they need to try out new talent. The participants for the first match were also unknowns, two black guys vs. two heavy set masked guys. I couldn’t catch their names and since they weren’t advertised I had no way of finding them out since no one else seemed to recognize them. They were first greeted with some boring chants but eventually they got over with the crowd a bit. The masked guys pulled off a double top rope Chaos Theory which was pretty sweet, but all four guys had some talent. The masked guys won with a rollup. Good talent, but I question starting off a reunion show with unknowns. They might have fit better in a second match. For the second segment, I had to leave the show for a bit so I missed it. However, my friend informed me there was a bald guy who came out chewed out Shane and was escorted from the floor by Atlas Security. One of the fans told my friend that the guy hates Shane so I’m guessing there’s known heat with him. I just didn’t know about it. The next match was the BWO (Meanie and Stevie) vs the F.B.I. (Guido and Marmaluke). I expected a comedy match and it’s what you got. At one point Meanie and Guido got into a thumb wrestling match with the ref making counts. I question the logic of the ref getting involved in this stuff for a company which is trying to be credible. Classic ECW chants of dueling "where’s my Pizza" and "Meanie ate it." The fans do help with the show! The bald guy who chewed out Shane ran out and nailed Richards on the apron. The F.B.I. got the win over Meanie. After the match, Stevie attacked the Worm and scared off Meanie. I completely agree with how this played out. Stevie looks better now than he did in ECW and is very talented. He’s never got his break in WWE or TNA and out of the original ECW guys he’s one they should keep and push and shouldn’t be wasted in comedy matches. The next match was C.W. Anderson vs. Al Snow. This was booked as a "Purist Dream Match" and in my opinion this match did more damage to the show than any other. The match was very long, or at the least seemed very long. Constant rest holds and cheesy comedy spots. The fans were getting pissed. Imagine a Buff Bagwell/Lex Luger match. I remember thinking that these guys are screwing with us in how bad it was. Chants of "this is awful" and "take it home" throughout the match. Some guy threw a mannequin torso in the ring (with help me written all over it) which Snow used to hit CW with. People were chanting "torso." They were going to kick the guy out of the building which caused the fans to chant "let him stay," which they did. CW won with a spinebuster. After the match, Snow got pissed at Head and gave it a piledriver, superplex, 10-punch count in corner, etc. It just wouldn’t end. Snow came out, apologized to Head and took it back. By this point in the show, people were getting fed up. The lights went out. When they came in some new girl was in the ring. She was hot, did a striptease like dance which got chants of "show your tits." When she didn’t comply people booed and I think I heard chants of "she’s a tranny." Some girl in the audience then flashed the crowd which got ECW chants. I don’t know if she was kicked out. The next match was Balls Mahoney vs. Axl Rotten. The crowd was hot for this match, and it was a traditional ECW hardcore style match. The match ended with two unprotected, stiff chair shots from Axl to Balls. Afterwards, they hugged and they all sang Ball’s song. I personally am not a fan of the overly hardcore stuff but a lot of fans enjoyed this match. After this match, we had a "short" intermission break, which I think went for about a half-hour. After the intermission, Angel from the Baldies came to the ring and cut a promo which I couldn’t interpret. The Gangstas music it and both came to the ring to beat on Angel. For some reason, the Gangstas music (which usually plays the whole song through) was cut short which got chants of "turn the music on." The two new black guys came in and attacked the Gangstas and left them. The entire segment was pretty short. After this match the fans were fed up. There was entirely too much down time and the stuff people came to see was very short. There were loud chants of "refund", "this shows awful!", and "F--- you, Shane." People were very pissed! The guy who was cleaning the ring from the debris got chants of "clean it up asshole, clean it up!" The next match was supposed to be Pitbull 1 vs. Raven. Raven came out with some new flunkies including a guy who couldn’t walk but was carried into the ring. Pitbull came out with some other new hot girl. Raven started doing his comedy schtick mocking the fans and at one point calling the guy who couldn’t walk Criple H which got a Criple H crowd. Funny stuff! He started ripping on Pitbull 2 which got Wolfe to try and attack him. Raven’s flunkies starting attacking him and at one point through "Criple H" at Pitbull 1 like a weapon. Eventually, Sandman’s music hit which got a huge ovation. Sandman made his entrance and went through my row, smacking shoulders with me at one point. Sandman did his beer spot right by me which I got a photo of and my friend got video of. Beer got on my phone while taking the photo! Highlight of the night so far. Definitely a cool experience if you ever get to. In the ring, Wolfe pinned one of the flunkies and won the match. Raven left and Sandman canned his flunkies. So Raven did nothing but his schtick. Still, a good segment for me. More chants of "this show sucks!" The next match was Lynn vs. Crowbar. Chants of "save this show" were directed at Lynn. These guys put on a very good match. Both guys worked hard and the fans were giving them "Thank you, Jerry" and "Thank you, Crowbar" chants. There was a spot in the match where the action spilled into the crowd and Lynn dove over the guardrail to land on Crowbar and crashed into a few fans. One fan flew into a rage and tried to jump the rail to get at them. The camera filmed him and during this time Lynn and Crowbar were selling another spot. I got the vibe this guy’s one of Shane’s new talent. He was escorted out. Lynn won with the cradle piledriver and after the match announced this would be his last year wrestling. Fans chanted "please don’t go!" People really appreciated this match, especially after the card so far. I remember Lynn pulling a flying head scissors which got almost a standing ovation. The last match was supposed to be Sabu vs. Douglas, but ended up being Douglas vs. 2 Cold Scorpio because Sabu was rushed to the hospital that day. Scorpio is still in very good shape and hasn’t lost a step. People hated Douglas by this point. Loud "refund" and "F--- you Shane" chants. A lot of fans walked out almost from the start of this match and people kept leaving throughout this match. The fans who stayed rode Douglas with chants of "We want Bischoff" and "We want Russo" and "just retire!" Fans also started chanting the names of almost every known enhancement talent out there including "SD Jones" and "Brooklyn Brawler." Constant chants of "take it home" and groans on every kick out. It was truly something to see. Shane and 2 Cold worked hard in this match but the fans were so jaded by this point they couldn’t turn them. Shane’s mouth was busted open bad. The first mystery guy came out and it ended up being Kevin Sullivan who attacked Douglas. The next guy came out and it ended up being Tod Gordan, who attacked Scorpio. Shane won with a roll up and no one cared. Notes: It was odd to see a crowd who loved Shane before the show develop an almost hatred of him as the show progressed. In my opinion, a lot of what made it bad was out of his control. A lot of the originals can’t go anymore and most of the guys he got were mid-carders in ECW’s prime. Shane sold this card based on ECW’s legacy and promoted it months ahead of time. Expectations were unrealistically high. Douglas and a few others put some hard work in, but he lost the crowd by this point. As far as his booking, in some ways it made sense, like breaking Stevie off from the Meanie and how he introduced some of the newer characters. However, some concepts were dated like the hot woman who can get over by doing nothing more than a striptease dance. In the age of Internet porn, it’s not a big seller anymore. Last night Extreme Reunion turned off a lot of the original fans. Their next show is scheduled for the end of June. I’m not going! I will follow it, though. If Shane wants this promotion to prosper he needs to make some radical changes because a lot of these fans probably won’t be back next time. He said that they were going to all be about fun and entertaining and hardcore blood and guts. He said Meanie had a choice to make. Meanie said that after a lot of deliberation, he picked Balls. Balls drilled Rodman with the chair and has Meanie nail him with a splash off the ropes. OK match. Rodman was placed in a neck brace and walked out of the ring. He said that he watched the tape of the first show and thought it was a pretty damn good show. He said it wasn't perfect but it was damn good. He asked the fans if they agreed and they popped. He said that you can't buy fan loyalty and he promised to bury Vince McMahon's Irish ass. He said Corona, NY is the most extreme city on the wrestling planet. He said he was sitting in the back with his pencil because he was the booker and that's what he does. He said as he wrote down the matches, his arm started to shake because he knew what a great show it was going to be. When he got to the second half of the show, he thought back to 1994 when ECW invited Konnan to bring Extreme Lucha Libre to the United States. After the match, Hardy took the mic and told Lynn to stand up high before his people. The fans and Hardy chanted "Thank you Jerry." Hardy said that when he knew he was going to Extreme Rising, he knew it was a hostile crowd and he knew he had his hands full with Lynn. nWoHulkster
Extreme Rising June 30th, 2012 Philadelphia, PA Attendance looked to be 800-900 people, obviously down from last time's 2,100 sell out. The show opened with a local hardcore band Eat the Turnbuckles playing. They did all sorts of wrestling based antics with barbed wire, chairs, guitars and one guy even came off the top of a van onto a table. The crowd wasn't happy about them. Stephen DeAngelis came to the ring. He introduced Robby Mireno. He got booed in his own hometown. He tried to tell them that he stood up for Philly last night in NYC but the crowd still razzed him, so he heeled them. Ah, Philadelphia. Joel Gertner made his way to the ring. The place chanted for him. Papadon vs. Perry Saturn The fans were all over him so Papadon demanded that DeAngelis make it clear that he's not gay. Papadon then demanded he be announced as the greatest unsigned talent in the wrestling world today. Saturn got a huge pop and immediately went into the bleacher and walked across the entire length. There was a huge "Perry" chant. Saturn literally went around to every corner of the building before getting into the ring. Saturn received a big "Welcome Back" chant. Saturn took the mic and said, "E C F***ing W." That of course led to a huge ECW chant. They locked up and Papadon backed off and went to the floor. The ever polite Philly crowd chanted, "You suck d***." Saturn went to the floor but Don slipped back in before he could get him. Saturn asked for a mic. He said that he hasn't been here in a long time but it appears everyone knows Papadon is a huge c**sucker. The mic died so it didn't get much of a response. They finally locked up and they went back and forth until Saturn drills him with a clothesline and then another Cactus Clothesline over the top to the floor. He beats the hell out of Papadon on the floor and tosses him back into the ring. Jersey Shore from Raven's flock last time here hits the ring and attacks Saturn. They double on him until Gary Wolfe's music hits and Wolfe made the save. Wolfe battled Shore to the floor. The crowd chanted for "Pitbull." Saturn whipped Papadon into the ropes and as he bounced back towards Saturn, Saturn hit the legsweep from Total Elimination for the pin. Your winner, Perry Saturn! The match was more of a spectacle for Saturn's homecoming than a competitive bout. There was a lot of glad-handing to the crowd, but they loved seeing Saturn. They didn't do much in the ring, but what they did got a reaction and worked. Saturn obviously can't go like he used to but they structured it right as a way to spotlight him. Papadon looked great tonight and as I've written in the past, he's got it and deserves a shot in a major way I was really happy to see him get booked here. The run-in was a nice way to get Wolfe on the show and he got a nice pop coming out. The FBI vs. Los Dramaticos They did some really good wrestling to kick off the bout. The Dramaticos worked over Mamaluke early. Guido tagged in and he went back and forth with the larger Dramatico. Mamaluke held the ropes open for the Dramatico to hit the floor. Guido went to the floor. Mamaluke went for a dive through the ropes but was caught and turned into a tornado DDT on the floor. The smaller Dramatico hit a moonsault to the floor on all involved. Back in the ring, the smaller Dramatico worked over Mamaluk. He went for a top rope rana but Guido held onto Tony to prevent it. That allowed the FBI to take over and work over the smaller Dramatico. Mamaluke held him in place as Guido scored with kicks to the arm and the legs. Guido whipped the Dramatico into the ropes but he nailed a sunset flip. Guido rolled through and dropkicked him for a two count. Mamaluke and Guido took turns working him over. The Dramatico ducked a Mamaluke kick and made the hot tag to the larger Dramatico. The Dramaticos worked on Mamaluke and went for the Spanish Fly but Guido nailed one with a Russian Legsweep. Mamaluke grabbed a forward choke standing on the ropes with the other but was suplexed into the ring from that position. Guido was left in the ring and the Dramaticos worked him over with a series of backdrops. They turned their attention back to Mamaluke and nailed the Spanish Fly off the top for a two count. The move received an ECW chant. One of the Dramaticos went for an Electric Chair but Guido tripped him from outside. Mamaluke landed on top and hooked the legs for the pin. Your winners, The FBI! Solid back and forth match with some good action. CW Anderson vs. Balls Mahoney (with The Blue Meanie) They locked up and Anderson focused on Mahoney's arm. Balls made it to the ropes to break it and went for his chair but John Finnegan grabbed it away. They locked up and Mahoney's arm was worked over again. He fought back and Anderson went to the floor. Mahoney followed and brawled with Anderson, nailing him with a beer and whipping him into the railing. Mahoney took a sign from a fan and nailed Anderson with it. There was a road sign underneath. Meanie and Balls pinballed Anderson back and forth with punches as the crowd chanted "Blue" and "Balls." I cracked up at that. Back in the ring, Mahoney peppered Anderson with a series of punches in the corner then whipped him into the opposite corner. He charged but Anderson evaded and Mahoney hit his shoulder on the ringpost. Anderson rammed Mahoney shoulder-first into the ringpost. He placed the road sign on Balls' shoulder and stomped it. He locked on an armbar and yanked at Balls' arm. He began beating Balls with shots across the back but Balls made a comeback. Anderson superkicked him and covered him for a two count. Anderson continued working on Mahoney's arm and covered him for a two count. Mahoney caught him out of nowhere with a sitdown spinebuster for a two count. Anderson caught him with a spinebuster for a two count. He kicked Balls and wedged a chair in the corner. Anderson tried to whip Balls into the corner but it was reversed. Anderson stopped himself before hitting the chair and rammed Balls into it. Meanie hit the ring looking to nail Anderson with a chair but it was superkicked in his face. "Enter Sandman" hit and out came the Sandman to a huge pop. He headed right to the ring and got in Anderson's face. They went nose to nose. Anderson slapped him so Sandman kicked him and nailed him across the back with the cane, then hit the White Russian Legsweep. Mahoney and Anderson went back and forth. Mahoney drilled him with a right and Meanie nailed Anderson with the chair. Mahoney covered him for the pin. Your winner, Balls Mahoney! Sandman took the mic and said he was going to get a little drunk now and asked if there was anyone who wanted to get in the ring with him and drink a beer. They got a few guys and girls to do it before Sandman thanked the crowd and said, "we gotta get the f*** outta here." Entertaining stuff here. Anderson looked great and vicious as a heel. I like the Mahoney-Meanie tandem. Sandman's antics never get old with me. Shane Douglas came out and said it was great to see the home of Extreme. He cut a promo ripping on Eric Bischoff, Dixie Carter, Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. Douglas said that in 1994, Paul Heyman had a vision to change pro wrestling forever. He called AAA and said that ECW fans were ready to see some great Luchadors. He cut a great promo putting over the Extreme Lucha match and said that it was time to get the party started. Pesadilla vs. Bestia 666 They started out with some really strong mat wrestling back and forth early. Bestia nailed Pescadilla with a head scissors takeover. They exchanged a series of two counts and faced off. Pescadilla offered his hand and when Bestia took it, he kicked him in the gut. Pescadilla nailed a series of chops and went for a tiltowhirl backbreaker but Bestia landed on his feet and nailed a dropkick. Bestia nailed a nice twisting dive over the top to the floor. Back in the ring, Bestia nailed the muscle buster and hit the standing moonsault for the pin Fall one: Bestia! Fall Two started with them chopping each other on the floor and then in the ring. Papadon offered his hand. Stevie took it and Papadon tried to clothesline him. Richards ducked and nailed the Steviekick. Extreme Rising Championship Tournament: Luke Hawx vs. Perry Saturn Saturn went through the crowd so Hawx took the mic and asked whether he came to wrestle or not. He ripped on the fans and Saturn. Hawx said that at one time, Saturn was half of one of the best tag teams in the world, but it's a shame the one with all the talent died. Ouch. Hawx cut off Saturn with a necktie neckbreaker for a two count but was caught out of nowhere with a Death Valley Driver. Saturn covered him but Hawx turned it into a submission attempt and forced Saturn to tap. The submission didn't get over with the crowd. Your winner, Luke Hawx! Hawx mocked the crowd, asking where their "You tapped out" chant was. Match was OK. They worked as hard as they could but Saturn is pretty limited in what he can do these days. Team Blue Balls, Balls Mahoney and The Blue Meanie vs. Da Lost Boys Balls Mahoney and The Blue Meaniecame out. Out came a team called Da Lost Boys who said they are tired of hearing all about how hardcore they are and dared them to fight. They poured broken glass out of a trash can and dipped their fists in it. Balls said he doesn't know who they are but 15 years ago, he was in a main event here in this building. He said he came out to have fun but now they are ruining that. He asked if they want a Taipei death match that is fine and asked someone to bring him tape to tape his fists. The fans chanted "Where's the tape?" Balls ended up drilling both with punches as the fans chanted Balls name. Balls kicked a heavier Lost Boy in the groin. He raked glass across his forehead. Meanie brawled around ringside with the other one. Balls began jabbing the Lost Boy in the head with a spike (I think) and slammed the other one across the broken glass. Meanie hit a sitdown powerslam on Lost Boy #2. That got an ECW chant. Mahoney headbutt #1 in the head but the broken glass hurt Balls as well. Balls nailed him after grabbing a handful of broken glass. Balls grabbed a steel chair and nailed one of them with a chair, then killed the other one (who didn't put his hands up, Geez). The Boys were put on top of each other. Meanie came off the top with a big splash and pinned them both. Your winners, Team Blue Balls. They lost the momentum of the show when the Lost Boys came out. They had no real look and the second they came out the entire crowd had a collective "WTF?" This was your pretty basic weapons brawl but didn't have any of the frenzied energy of say a New Jack brawl. The crowd loved seeing Balls and Meanie but this wasn't much overall. This came off as something that wasn't needed at all. I'm all for a good bloody death match but this served no purpose in my mind. Facade vs. Bestia 666 They billed Facade as the Neon Ninja. He followed that up with a running knee to the face for another two count. Facade set up the table, looking to put Bestia through it. He placed Bestia on the center turnbuckle and nailed several chops. He placed the table in front of the corner, which even the announcers noted would be telegraphing his plans. Bestia and Facade countered several moves. Facade slammed Bestia's head into the table. Facade went back to the top and pulled Bestia up. They battled back and forth. Bestia caught him with a Spanish Fly through the table and scored the pin. Your winner, Bestia 666! Good match with some nice spots. This was a match that really run over the live crowd, who have not been kind to the non-ECW talents. I really liked the dives and the finish. Good stuff. The FBI, Little Guido & Tony Mamaluke vs. BLK OUT Jeez and Ruckus attacked the FBI as they were playing to the crowd. They worked over Mamaluke early. Guido pulled Jeez out of the ring and Mamaluke fought off Ruckus. Guido tried to nail them with a dive but missed. They went to work over Guido but Mamaluke hit an awesome forward flip off the top to the floor. Jeez fought back but was cut off with a snapmare. Mamaluke tagged in and kicked Jeez. They continued to control Jeez, tagging in and out. Ruckus made the hot tag and hit some flashy offense on Mamaluke for several two counts. Jeez and Ruckus now tagged in and out. Jeez tagged Mamaluke with a series of right hands. The crowd chanted for Jeez to pull his pants up, so he ripped them off, revealing his short tights underneath. That was funny. Mamaluke fired back but was cut off by Jeez. Jeez locked him in a bow and arrow. Ruckus hit the ring and kicked Mamaluke while he was trapped. Guido grabbed Ruckus and took him down with an armbar and a double stomp. Mamaluke almost made a tag but Jeez shot him down. Jeez whipped Mamaluke into the ropes and drilled him with a knee to the mid-section. Ruckus nailed the Afterburner on Mamaluke. Mamaluke sent Jeez into the buckles. He went for a tornado DDT on Ruckus but turned it into a front chancery hanging choke. Jeez grabbed a chair but Guido grabbed it. The referee was distracted by Guido having the chair and took it away. That allowed BLK OUT to double team Mamaluke for the win. Your winners, BLK OUT! Jeez took the mic and said it's all about the BLK OUT. This brought out New Jack and Thomas Rodman, with weapons. Jack tossed a trash can into the ring with weapons. Jack tossed Jeez into the crowd and worked him over. Meanwhile, the FBI worked over Ruckus and threw him into the guard rail. They joined Jack in the crowd and held Jeez for him to work over, then worked him over himself. They placed Jeez on a table. Jack climbed to the top of some bleachers that were closed and dove off but came up short and the table didn't break. Undaunted, New Jack ran back and killed Jeez with an evil looking diving elbow through the table. That never ceases to be an insane sight. Jack took the mic and asked how many years it has been since he heard his motherf***ers from Pittsburgh. He said when he hit Jeez the first time, he went back up because he knows the fans paid to see it. He said that in 3 weeks, he'll be 50 and will be the meanest f***ing 50 year old you will ever see in your life. The crowd chanted "Thank you New Jack." Jack said that they wanted to get what's left of the Extreme back on the road. He said that he'll never short change the fans and he'll carry the company on his back like Shane Douglas did the original ECW because he's New Jack. I think that's what he said. The mic wasn't easy to make out. After all that, Jack brought a young white kid in the ring and had him make the "X" sign with his hands. The man is still charismatic. Jeez was stretchered out. The tag match itself was fine but never really got out of first gear. The crowd loved the New Jack stuff. He said no one needs to be here. He said that it was a revolution at the time and it can't be done again. He said that it was his genius that allowed Paul Heyman to do what he did. He said that he'll do whatever he can and use whatever weapons he has to do it. He said that he was supposed to fight Gary Wolfe but Wolfe was "too much of a p***y" to show up, so now that he's explained himself, he's leaving. Raven accepted and began to walk out. Richards said he wanted the match right now. Raven said that if he does...and nailed Richards with the mic. The show went off the air with Hardy on the floor with a slew of people around him. Hopefully he's OK. He was sitting up but then laid back down. We'll update when we know more. It appears Matt Hardy nailed his head when he was shoved off the top to the floor by Luke Hawx during the main event of the Extreme Rising iPPV. According to several readers who were ringside, Hardy got sick after hitting the floor and appeared to be going into convulsions. It could be a concussion but obviously that's not confirmed. He did sit up before the PPV went off the air but medical staff asked him to lay back down. Am ambulance was called to the building and Hardy will be taken to a local hospital to get checked out. As of this writing, he is still on the floor at ringside. The promotion asked the crowd to clear out as soon as the event went off the air. It's believed Hardy may have also injured his ribs, but I'm not 100% sure on that. The run-ins during the main event between Hardy and Douglas were all scheduled, not a last second reaction to his injury. We'll post a further update when we hear but hopefully everything turns out OK. Update: EMTs are on hand but as of 11:26 PM, Hardy still had not been moved. Update 2: Hardy finally returned to the locker room under his own power after being checked out by EMTs. The belief is he suffered a concussion. Obviously, we wish him well. Link to comment

Reby was hit with a Fall Away Slam.Hardy hit the Side Effect on Hawx. Sabu nailed a legdrop through a table on Luke. Hardy nailed a Twist of Fate on Sabu and pinned him.Your winner, Matt Hardy!OK match. It got a little too wacky as it went on for my taste. The run-in does make sense from a storyline basis with Hardy vs. Hawx. The work itself was fun but I wasn't a fan of the booking.Extreme Rising Championship: Rhino vs. Stevie RichardsThe crowd was solidly behind Richards. They began slugging it out in the ring. Rhino tossed him to the floor and then into the crowd. They brawled into the bleachers and all over the venue. As they returned to the ring, a lot of the wrestlers from the promotion began coming out of the locker room watching. Raven sat in the aisle in a chair.Rhino worked over Richards with a series of stomps. He was sent into the corner and Richards went for a leaping move but Rhino moved and Richards ate the turnbuckles. Rhino choked Richards with a chair. The crowd chanted back and forth with dueling chants for each man.Rhino hit a belly to belly suplex and set up for the Gore. He nailed it and covered Richards, who kicked up at two. Rhino nailed another belly to belly suplex. He set up for the Gore again but Stevie nailed the Steviekick. He nailed a second, then a third.Rhino was trapped in a submission hold and tapped out.Your winner and first Extreme Rising champion, Stevie Richards! All of the babyfaces and Shane Douglas hit the ring to celebrate with Richards as he was presented the belt. The crowd chanted for Stevie and gave him a standing ovation as he put the belt around his waist. The babyfaces all pounded the apron. The crowd called for a speech so Stevie took the mic. He thanked everyone in the crowd. They chanted, "Thank you Stevie." He said that he wanted to say something he's something for the last 22 years - "I'll show you, you'll see." He said that tonight, everyone showed the world he can be a World champion. He thanked everyone and celebrated in the ring.Nice ending to a marathon show. I thought it was a fun overall night, although some of the booking was a little erratic.Титлата: Link to comment

nWoHulkster
All Three Extreme Rising WrestleMania Weekend Events CanceledExtreme Rising officials began contacting talent this evening, informing them the Wrestlemania weekend events in Philadelphia and Staten Island, NY were canceled.Low ticket sales for the events were being blamed. There had been concern about going forward with the shows last week, but I am told Shane Douglas was adamant to the other partners that the shows take place, feeling his name was attached and he would take the hit if they were canceled. With ticket sales not improving, the decision was made tonight to kill the shows. I am told this does not mean the end of the promotion, but this will be a hard thing to rebound from, for all the obvious reasons. Link to comment
